A Pinch of SALT

Alright! I know you'll hate me for this but I just can't help it or I'll go insane if I keep this to myself!

WARNING! The following is supposed to be a short short review but as I read (and re-read) my entry, I realized that it has become some sort of a spoiler. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! ^_^

If you have not watched the movie yet, and you're about to continue reading this blog, and you suddenly changed your mind, stop reading after this sentence, click here, enjoy and go to the nearest cinema later and watch SALT! (I hope I'm getting paid for this promotion!).

And then, if you're still reading this (you've already watched it or out of curiosity, or whatever) then, here it goes!

The movie is about Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie), a CIA Agent, who was accused by a defector to be a Russian spy. But unlike other movies where the protagonist is being accused of espionage and the movie is all about how he/she is going to prove that he/she isn't a spy, Salt is actually, indeed surprisingly, a Russian spy! The action sequences are hair-raising: Angelina Jolie jumping from truck to truck on the freeway, brutal fight scenes... nothing less from Lara Croft!!! Hehe... and there's Sabertooth, uh, Liev Schreiber, I mean. It's like watching Sabertooth and Lara Croft in one movie. The twists and turns of the story (although might slightly been anticipated) are nevertheless surprising (with all the ooohs and the aaahs!). Add to that the shaky cams during fight scenes (love love love 'em all!). The movie is great. It pulls off a very good trick presenting its characters as villains who become heroes and heroes who become villains.

The story is open-ended, though. It's like saying "You just wait and there'll be SALT II". Come to think of it, Salt's like the female version of James Bond or Jason Bourne. Well, who won't care for a sequel, ayt?

What Really Puts You Over the Top

I received an email from a friend/officemate this morning. While it made me laugh, what the email says can at times (or is it "most of the time") be true. So here's what it says:

Here's a little something some one sent me that isindisputable mathematical logic.
(It also made me Laugh Out Loud.) Remember, this is strictly a mathematical viewpoint. It goes like this:

What Makes 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%.
How about achieving 103%? What makes up 100% in life?

Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:

Is represented as:

Then:

I Write Like...

I was browsing my fb (as I always do) looking for some "updates" on my friends and I came across a post by my high school friend, Chas. It's something that analyzes who you write like based on, yeah, the way you write (blogs, for example). Curious, I clicked the link and had a few paragraphs of my previous blogs analyzed (by I don't know who and how) and this is the result:

Think Tank Thoughts

I've written quite a number of blogs before but for some reasons even I could not understand/accept/explain I somehow get tired of blogging... or maybe I get too busy most of the time so I end up forgetting

a)to blog
b)that I have a blog account
c)my blog account password
d)all of the above

Anyway, for the nth time around, I created another blog account and (promise to) try to keep it (if not for good) for as long as I could... tsk... I wish...^_^

Why is "ThinkTankThoughts" the title of my blog? First, it's the best title I could squeeze out of my sleepy brain (sounds like "tick-tack-toe"... o di ba henyo!). Second, what I refer to as the 'think tank' is, yes, my brain. I've searched on what "think tank" really means and wikipedia says that a think tank is "an organization or individual that conducts research and engages in advocacy in areas such as social policy, political strategy, economy, science or technology issues, industrial or business policies, or military advice".

As far as I'm aware of, my brain's no think tank... hehe... nevertheless, it's the only thing that works properly (sometimes) and does the thinking for me so I therefore call it my think tank.
